Remembrance Sunday

Gipsy Hill councillors attended the annual Remembrance Sunday service at the Vincennes War Memorial on Hamilton Road with the Mayor of Lambeth and our local MP Helen Hayes.

Lambeth has a close connection to the French resistance through local hero Violette Szabo. The buildings in the Vincennes estate are named after those active in the resistance. The Salvation Army provided music, and the service was led by Rev Canon Ansah from Emmanuel Church on Clive Road. As local councillors we were proud to lay a wreath with gratitude on behalf of the local community.
