Fantastic news for local commuters – West Norwood, Gipsy Hill & West Dulwich stations are all being added to the London Overground network.
Over the next few years, as Southern & Southeastern’s franchises come to an end these services will be transferred to Transport to London and will become part of the Overground network.
We won’t have the tube, but we will be on the map.
This is something that lots of local people have been calling for for years – extending the overground from Crystal Palace through to Victoria makes clear sense – and hopefully will mean a faster, more reliable and more frequent service for all of us.
Southeastern (West Dulwich & Herne Hill stations) will transfer in 2018, while Southern could be as far off as 2021 – and we will be calling on TfL & the Mayor of London to try and speed this up.
