Success at Licensing Committee

In December we wrote to residents on Norwood High Street and Windsor Close about a licence application for Scandals Nightclub on Norwood High Street. The application was for music, dancing and the serving of alcohol until 5am every day of the week.

Matthew wrote, in early December, to the council to highlight the his concerns with this application and the problems caused with Southern Pride/Ego when they occupied the premises.

Lambeth Council’s Licensing Committee met on the evening of the 19th January to hear the application and Matthew was among those present who voiced their concerns. The committee agreed that 5am was excessive and Scandals will have to close at 1am on weeknights and 3am on Friday and Saturday nights. Thank you to everyone who made their voices heard.

If residents have any further problems then please don’t hesitate to contact any members of the action team or your MP: Tessa Jowell.
